Egypt ART

This is one of my Egyptian art that rm 11 and 12 did. I think it's really cool and fun to make because we had to go through all these stages of making like the tea staining stage where we tea stained the background, then there was a stage where we then found a picture to copy from and to then do practice sketches in our sketch book before going onto our good copy. when that was all done we then went over everything in sharpie, before we died it with die. Also not to mention I finished first in our class and took to weeks to make. I love art!!!

In this art I chose Anubis as you can see, God of the death was what he was worshiped for. Priests would dress up in Anubis when they mummified important people like pharaohs and kings as they warped them up and put special oils on to help preserve the body

THANKS See You next time !!!!!

Egypt

Egypt more than 3000 thousand years ago, which started out as upper and lower Egypt but then united by the first pharaoh. But what's more, this advanced civilization built to the skies and and worked hard  for the pharaohs to create constructions far from our imagination. Like the most recognizable sculptures such as the Sphinx and the pyramids of giza, are few of what these advanced Egyptians built.
What I mostly learned from was doing my double page spread which some people may think I'm crazy but I actually like doing stuff like that. It was so fun and it made me improve on my Egyptian Knowledge and my Knowledge on word and page layout and the cool art and group activities we did. I just learned heaps like Baboons were trained to climb fig trees to help with the harvests, (They had Baboons in the desert!)       Young boys were paid to be scarecrows! Frightening birds with loud noises and sling shots, the whole purpose of mummification was to preserve the dead person's body, and even the great sphinx was once beautifully coloured with bright reds and blues etc.

Bye Bye For now :)

                       Gymnastics

Every week rm12 walked down to Nairnville
and did some gymnastics.
That were all laid out in a different circuit every week.
some of the circuits were fun, and some challenging,
then we'll  switch to a different course every 12 minutes.

My favorite parts was the rings, the warm up games,
the warm down games and of course the air track.
It was super fun
because we could do all sorts of cool stuff on their
and its also very bouncy!!!

I have to say I improved the most on the beam,
and my posture and balance on it.
Now I can do all sorts of stuff on there!

Catastrophe

One Thing That I Learned This Week

Wow so many things but just what to choose from ? Well I probably have to say Hieroglyphics. they are so cool, its like a secret code language and looks so effective. I think the Egyptians just blow us away I mean, look they're just so advanced for their age. They have built great pyramids and a complicated network system.

I learned it more deeply by doing our art and translating some words onto it was pretty fun. And rote it down a lot to help me remember. I shall always remember because I learned it in a fun fun way..... By doing art!!!
And even if I forget its always going to be up on the wall somewhere to remind me if I can remember where abouts on my painting I put it...

                                          BOOK GROUP

I quite like the book group idea, of how we get into groups, and have meeting, and all tha
I think its really cool. (especially when you get to unlock crackers!)

I was in in the running wild group with Caitlin, Silvia, Sharon, and Andrew nice cooperative people to work with. But some were a bit unreliable, but most of the time they'er pretty good and join in on conversations and remembered to bring food for when we unlocked crackers.

What I gained from the experience is understanding the book a bit more deeply and seeing it from different peoples perspectives.

THE NICKLE NACKLE TREE

The Nickle Nackle Tree by Lynley Dodd is a classic picture book that I used to make my dad read; cause at the time I used to crack up laughing at the different bird illustrations. It was classic drawing reference with so many things to draw, and the most rollicking rhymes to listen to!

"One Ballyhoo bird, kicking up a din.                                                  Two squawking Scritchet birds with legs so twiggy thin.
Three Tittle Tattle birds with twirly curls behind........"

I just love the way that silly nonsense words actually helps paint that picture in your head of what YOU might think the bird looks like... But when you look at the Illustrations inside the book you can really see how different you see things than other people; and don't forget those funny little characteristics each bird has! From lurking to friendly,
from quirkiness to sly, from bashful to sleepy and even those ones in that try to hide!

All of them seem to be somehow squeezed on this one tree, growing Nickle Nackle berries that are red as red can be. But... On this twisted, branch y tree with a jumble jam squeeze, can't always support such a  jam, so it then becomes...............

An OVERLOADED Nickle Nackle tree

Taupo

TAUPO

The term 1 holidays was all a big slumber party first in Taupo, then to Grandma and Grahams, then to a party at Oliver's, and a sleep over at his of course. But we're not gonna talk about all that. Were going to talk about my stay in Taupo. Which doesn't need a lot of explanation, but to sum it up, we were in the pool and playing tennis pretty much every day and all day, even though we were only there for two nights. Anyway back to the pool, it was boiling. Really, really boiling, and its because of the fact that it was heated in the earth like a..... A..... geyser or something I don't know and tennis was also alright even though the weather wasn't the best, rainy then not all the time!
